Tryouts for the 2008-2009 KSU cheerleading squad will be held Sunday, May 4th at Bramlage Coliseum. This is a one day tryout consisting of tumbling, stunting, and a fight song (learned that day). The tryout is open to anyone who would like to attend.
Registration will start at 9 a.m. with warm-up and stretching on your own. Tryouts will start at 10:00 a.m. with the tumbling and fight song portion. We will break for lunch at 1:00 p.m. and resume with stunts at 2:30 p.m.
A video tryout may be submitted and will be accepted no later then Saturday, May 10th. Videos should be sent to:

The fee for tryouts is paid when you submit your video or during registration of the live tryout. The tryout fee is as follows:
- No college cheer experience: $20
- One year college cheer experience: $15
- Two years college cheer experience: $10
- Three or more years college cheer experience: $0
- April 22nd 7-9 - Indoor Football Facility
- Friday May 2nd 6-9 - Bramlage
- Saturday May 3rd 3-5 - Bramlage
(Current K-State cheerleaders are not allowed to wear KSU cheerleading clothing)
- An intro with your name, age, major of interest, and something fun or interesting about you.
- Do as many of the skills from the suggested skills list
- Any other skills you would like to include
- A fight song
- An 8 count dance
- Jumps: Double toe touch and 2 jumps of your choice
- Showcase your skills
- Sports bra or sport tank (acceptable colors: Purple, Black, White, or Gray)
- Shorts: spandex or soffee (acceptable colors: Purple, Black, White, or Gray)
- Game Day ready:

- White low cut socks

- Hair ½ up with big curls
- Game ready make-up (i.e. red lipstick, etc.)
- No jewelry including tongue rings will be ALLOWED.
- No other university logos may be visible.

We are not only looking for fully mastered skills but will judge based on effort and potential, and technique.
* We are looking for a committed group of males to recapture the strong stunting tradition of Kansas State Cheer. You may tryout with limited or not stunting or tumbling experience and will be judged based on potential and improvement.

Each person will be scored on a 100 point scale by each judge (with 0 being the lowest and 100 being the highest). The scores from all judges will be averaged and the team will be selected based on the natural break in scores.

- Potential – 20 pts
- Overall impression – 20 pts
Due to the ongoing interviews for a new head coach, the tryout format has changed. The tryouts will be video taped. Once a new coach is hired they will look at the tryout videos along with the score sheets and comments and make a final decision. Newly selected cheerleaders will be notified as soon as possible. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.
