Deep venous thrombosis

Vein are the blood vessels. The main function of the vein is carrying the blood towards the heart. Sometimes, it is possible for the formation of blood clot on the veins. This condition is termed deep venous thrombosis. This condition mainly affects the veins in the leg. Especially, the lower leg and thigh affect more. Due to the formation of the blood clot, there is no possible for the blood to get enter the heart, brain, lung and some other area. Heart and brain are the most sensitive organs present in the human body. When the heart and brain did not receive the blood for five minutes, it leads to severe damage. The most common reason for blood clotting are smoking, fractures, obesity, surgery and taking rest for an extended hours. The symptoms are pain and swelling. Heparin is the commonly used medicine for blood clotting.
