Carbohydrates give energy to our body. Our body needs carbohydrates for passing energy to the tissues, cells and organs. Liver breaks carbohydrates into glucose, which is essential for energy. The major types of carbohydrates are simple and complex. These types are categorized depending on how fast your body makes use of the blood sugars. Foods like fruits, milk and table sugar contains simple sugars. They also contain vitamins, fibers and calcium. Chocolates also have the simple sugars but they do not have any other things important nutrients necessary for body. Complex carbohydrates are called starch, which we can get from many foods such as grains, bread, rice and pasta. Refined grains such as white flour and white rice, provides little nutrition as their nutrients and fiber have been removed. Unrefined grains are rich in vitamins and minerals. It is better to take those foods as they are very helpful in the making your digestion well. Fiber makes you to feel full with no fat and hence you can live healthy life without putting over weight. Therefore a bowl of oat meal can give you much energy than the candy, which has the same number of calories as the oatmeal.
