Diabetes has become a very common health problem. Millions of people are suffering from this health condition. In this condition, your body is unable to break down sugar. This leads to excess production of sugar and you need some artificial methods to reduce the sugar amount. It may affect your vision, may cause kidney failure or numbness of hand and feet. Diabetes can be prevented by doing some changes in your lifestyle. Healthy lifestyle choices not only prevent diabetes but also lower the risk of heart diseases and improve your mood and mental health. Diabetes can be controlled by losing weight. People who are overweight and obese are at higher risk. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Drink lots of water. Reduce intake of alcohol as soon as possible. Avoid sugary foods to prevent diabetes. Performing moderate type of exercises like swimming, cycling, and brisk walk will reduce the occurrence of diabetes. Reduce your intake of salt to minimum. Avoid consuming unhealthy fats. Do not eat packed and processed foods. Consume food rich in fiber like beans, oat bran, fruits and nuts can help you to reduce the blood sugar level. Avoid large meals instead take small meals at regular intervals to provide energy to your body throughout the day.
